독일의 건축 사진가 디터 리스트너(DIETER LEISTNER)는 사진 촬영을 엄격한 기준으로 통제하는 북한 당국의 허가를 통해 2006년 평양에서 촬영 한 사진과 2012년 서울에서 자유롭게 촬영한 사진을 프랑크푸르트 응용미술박물관(MUSEUM ANGEWANDTE KUNST
FRANKFURT)에서 전시하 고 이를 한데 엮어 사진집
를 발표했다. 김일성과 세종 대왕 동상, 지하철, 학교 교실,
버스 정류장, 공동묘지, 건설 현장, 거리의 젊은 여성들 등 유사한 장소와 대상에서 느껴지는 독특한 이질감이 그대로 전 달될 수 있도록 남한과 북한에서 같은 구도로 찍은 사진을 나란히 배치했다.
In 2006, the German architecture photographer Dieter Leistner had both the opportunity and official permission to
photograph public spaces in Pyongyang, North Korea. In 2012, Leistner visited Seoul, South Korea, where he sought and
found similar locations with a very different feel. Korea—Korea is a collection of his images whose “visual concordance”
speaks for itself.
